Movement and the possibilities for change within an object, combined with ambiguity of function, have always been key aspects of my work.
For many years, I was concerned with making work for the body, utilizing its energy to make the ‘worn’ object spin, slide and pivot; to change and to question. Gradually, the practical issues of size, weight and comfort became too restrictive and my focus shifted.

I continue to explore the same underlying notions, but now work at a much larger scale using kiln cast glass, frequently with other materials such as cast iron, rubber and lead. The three dimensional objects I produce often make reference to aspects of our industrial past and raise questions of function/non-function, fineart/design.
