Son of the painter Anne Redpath, David Michie was born in St. Raphael, in the South of France and grew up in the Scottish Borders. He studied at Edinburgh College of Art and, after lecturing at Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen, he returned to teach at ECA, retiring in 1990. He is represented in many public and private collections throughout the world.
