John G Crawford grew up in a Scottish fishing Village near Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire and the landscapes and coastlines of the east coast of Scotland are the subjects of many of his paintings. He is considered one of the foremost realist painters in the UK and he was the Winner of The Hunting Major Art Award, London in 1983 for the Best Watercolour by a British Artist.
